They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Good thing I’m the one looking in the mirror.
Because after years of looking in the mirror and seeing epilepsy, I’ve decided it can fuck off.
There are days when you need to be 100% on your game. Maybe you’re representing your company, making a first impression, or showing up for something important. Sometimes you have to put yourself together for the occasion, and that’s fine.
But here’s the thing: everyone has their fucking opinions.
You can look like a model, have your makeup done to the nines, your clothes perfectly pressed, and your hair looking incredible—and someone will still find a reason to judge you.
Some people are just jerks. And that’s me being nice.
As for my personal style? Workout clothes, jeans, T-shirts, sneakers, and, if I’m feeling frisky, a pair of Birkenstocks.
That’s my fashion.
I wear what makes me comfortable, but more importantly, what makes me feel confident. I’m not interested in spending my day worrying about whether someone else likes my outfit or how I look in it.
Thrift stores and outlet malls are my religion. Mascara is my makeup routine. Straight hair with bangs? That’s me.
I’m not the girl who gets dressed up every single day, and I’m perfectly okay with that. When I want to dress up, I will. When I want to throw on leggings and sneakers, I’ll do that too.
Beauty is personal. Confidence is personal. And your style should belong to you.
I can tell you to love yourself all day long, but that’s something you have to learn for yourself. It takes time to stop seeing yourself through everyone else’s eyes and start appreciating the person looking back at you.
So be different. Be unique. Be your true self.
And remember something I’ve been told since I was young:
Don’t let the bastards get you down.
Welcome to LOOK.
This is where we talk about clothes, beauty, confidence, and whatever makes us feel good in our own skin. No fashion rulebook required.
I can’t wait to see what you can teach me about yourself. ♡
